We are delighted to announce the launch of the Handball Foundation.

Founded and led by former international handball player Stan Belinski, the Foundation is on a mission to ignite a passion for handball across communities.

After moving to the UK from Poland, Stan initially founded Trafford Handball Club in 2018.

The club has since worked with more than 7,000 children across the borough and beyond, spreading the gospel of handball into the area. Thanks to the commitment of players, coaches and parents alike the club has provided players to national age-group teams, but also hours of fun and the opportunity for young people to find a new sporting passion in their lives.

Building on the success of Trafford Handball, Stan founded Stockport Handball Club in 2023 – and the club already has six teams and is active in more than 30 schools.

The Foundation’s mission is to build on those strong foundations – not only bringing both clubs under the same umbrella, but also to support and drive the growth of handball in schools across Manchester and the wider community.

The Handball Foundation is a registered charity (charity number 1205687), with Stan as its CEO and six trustees bringing unique skills and contributing to the strategic direction and sustainability the Foundation.

Stan said: “I am excited to blend my love for the game of handball with my vision for its future.

“The Foundation is not just about playing handball; it is about building a community in which everyone – from young enthusiast to season players – can find their place and thrive.”
